Busy, busy

Sorry I haven't posted in two days, I've been absolutely exhausted everyday when I come home from work and just haven't had the energy to write. On Thursday I worked 12:30-6:30 which was a nice change from the early shifts that I've been working recently and when I got there I was stationed at the Bridge in front of the Tree of Life. It was a little bit slow while I was there just because everyone was going to/from lunch but I did still get to take a lot of photos. The one thing that sticks out in my mind from that day was when I was standing there saying hi to guests and this one older couple comes up to me and says "We were just talking about what a nice smile you have!" and we went into a ten minute conversation about Photo Pass and how it works because they had never heard of it before. They were so nice, the wife was from Indiana and the husband right from Florida. Soon after they left I was told to go over to the Entrance for an hour which was okay, but there wasn't really anyone coming into the park during that time. I like having constant activity and people to talk to so it was a little weird to just be standing there when no one was around. 

Once the hour was up, I went to find my next assignment and was told to go to the View Center. I was there for five minutes before someone came in and had me go on break which I found a little bit odd. After break I was stationed back in the View Center and was told that I was closing it that night. I was a little bit worried because I had never closed there before but it ended up being a lot easier than expected. I also found out that when the park closes at 5 and you're in the View Center until 6, it's because EVERYONE goes there once the park closes. There was a line going all the way outside because everyone wanted to look at their pictures. So those last couple of hours FLEW by. At the end of my shift I was ready to go home and crash for the night, but instead went out with Kaitlin for some shopping at Target. :D

Yesterday (Friday) I worked 9:30-3:30 and for the first three hours was back at the Bridge. I really enjoy working that location because there are usually always people for me to talk to down there. Unfortunately I don't remember anyone in particular from this location on this day. :( Anyway, after about 3 hours I went on break and when I came back I was in Tree Plaza which is right in between Bridge and Tree Alcove. It was hard to find a spot that wasn't in the way and people could still spot me but I was only there for about half an hour so it didn't matter too much anyway. Then at 1:15 I was put over at Tree Alcove (my favorite so far!) until the end of my shift. It still wasn't too busy in that area but I got to talk about the Cotton Top Tamarins with a lot of guests which made the day go by so much faster than if I were just standing there. I think it's been a pretty successful couple of days and I'm hoping today is a bit busier since it's the weekend. Today and tomorrow I'm working 2:00-8:00 and I'm pretty excited to be doing night shots in Animal Kingdom!
