My first day of work

So Friday marked my official first day of work and I have to say that I LOVE MY JOB. First of all my shift went by so fast that when I was done it had only felt like I had been there for two hours, not six. My shift started at 9:30 and I was stationed at the backside of the Tree of Life which I might add is a beautiful photo location, much better than over by the bridge. :p I did get lost on the way there though and had to ask a couple of other Cast Members where to go, oops. Luckily everyone is so nice here that it wasn't an issue at all. Once I finally did find my location the guests were constantly coming up to have their photos taken which was really nice. I also took quite a few guests photos with their own cameras and when I asked them if they wanted me to take the photos with their cameras they didn't know what to say. Most of them just said "You can do that for me? That would be awesome!" It was so nice to be able to make someones whole day better just by taking a photo of the entire family with their camera, it actually felt like I was making magic.

I was stationed at this location for the first three hours of my shift and then it was time for break. By the time I got over to where I had my food I only had two minutes left on my break so that didn't work out as planned. After my break was over I was stationed over by the exit to the Kilimanjaro Safari ride which was also really nice, even though I got lost going there too. :x I really need to take a day to go to the park just so that I have an idea of where I'm going on my next shift. After I was at my location I found that it was a lot slower than the Tree of Life backside just because no one really thinks of it as a photo location. There is a harambe jeep, the "warden post," and a waterfall over here though that I had never noticed before as a guest. There's also a live gorilla that is over by the waterfall which was awesome even though it was staring all of the guests down while they were watching it. I think it just likes its privacy. :p While I was over by safari I did meet a guy who was down from South Boston which was pretty interesting, he was telling me about how he had lost his family two hours earlier. I do hope he eventually found them! I also felt really bad every time a guest would ask me where something was and I had no idea, yet another reason why I need to go explore the park on my day off. Other than that I would say it was a very successful first day of work and I'm so excited about the next four months and what they will bring.

Next up: Night shots at Epcot on Tuesday! I've been looking forward to this since I got my schedule and I'm so ready to go there! :)
